Difference between Filter and Slicer
To better understand the difference between a filter and a slicer, what is the correct alternative :
- If you are using the normal Slicer, user cannot interact with the dashboard. On the other hand, Filter allows users to have an interaction with reports as well as dashboards.
- If you are using the normal Filter user cannot interact with the dashboard. On the other hand, Slicer allows users to have an interaction with reports as well as dashboards.
- There is no difference between Slicer and Filter. Because Slicer visual is visible on the dashboard whereas Filter has the same effect by not applying the Slicer visual on the dashboard.
1) Slicers can interact , Filter Can not
2) When you pin complete report, slicer will add to dashbaord
3) Slicer are at page level, unless measure or interactions stop those. Filter can be at viual, page or report level

Slicers can be report-level with Sync Slicers.

I think the answer is #3. I tested both Slicers and Filters and both work update interactively with user selections. Slicers are on the page itself, while Filters are on a sidebar.
