Hello,
When you have a time based chart, PowerBI displays the value of both X & Y axis values depending on the relative position of the cursor over the chart.
Refer image below, which shows the X-Axis value(September 2016) and Y-Axis values (0.79 & 1.13*).
Is there a DAX expression to dynamically identify & hold the X-Axis value (Sept2016) for use in other measures??
Is there a DAX expression to dynamically identify & hold the chart "title" (Period & Cumulative MPI) or similar, for use in other measures??
I'd like to use the "cursor selected X-axis value" in a dynamic lookup of comments, which would be displayed as part of the tool tip. That way, as you move along the X-Axis and the cursor position changes, the cursor-X-Axis value also changes, updating the tool tip such that the comments shown is relative to the month the cursor is located over.
I'd appreciate any suggestions or recommendations you can provide.
Cheers.

Cheers.
Currenly, it's not supported to get the values based on mouse hover position. You must the select (which means you need to click) so that the selected value can be taken by DAX formula into filter context.

Hi Simon,
What I'm hoping to be able to do is:
Are you able to provide me with the DAX formula that will allow me determine the selected value from a click within a chart??
I've already developed DAX code for extracting filter values and then using them for dynamic lookups...
Cheers.
Braden.
When you click on relevant month within your chart, your DAX formula supposes to be sliced by month level (if you don't ignore filters in your formula). Howerver, it can't get a specific date value based on the selection position within the Month bar/column in your chart.
Regards,
Sorry dude,
Currently this option not available in Power BI. But interaction will work.
like if u click on the Month in Line chart it will sort the rest of the chart with relavant month u clicked in line chart.
let me if any help
