The "Days Late" column and the last column are not in the same table. I have tried swtiching the relationship and filtering every wayt but nothing is working. Regardless of what I click on, the total value of "Days Late" is given for each value of the last column.

Typically, the total value is incorrect generally because the filtering context is incorrect. You can try to set the relationship between the two tables on the same fields and then cross filter direction as both.
