Decision tree visual

Hi Everyone,
I am trying to create a decision tree/map on Power BI and need help with the best tool for this.
The main aspects are: the folowing leaf appears as you select yes/no answers to original question, there are multiple level of questions, each leaf must show entire question. Somewhat like the image bellow.

FYI I'm a beginner at Power BI so please don't use acronyms....

Hi @Danibuzzi,
To create an interactive decision tree or decision map in Power BI similar to your image, I recommend using a custom visual called: Hierarchy Tree by DevScope

This visual allows you to build multi-level hierarchies that resemble a decision tree. Each node can display full text (e.g., your Yes/No questions), and the tree updates based on the data.

Please follow the below steps to achieve:

  1. Open Power BI Desktop

  2. Click on "Get more visuals" from the Visualizations pane (three-dot icon ...)

  3. Search for “Hierarchy Tree” (by DevScope)

  4. Click “Add”

  5. Add your data in a structure like: Lv1, lv2 etc.

Note: It supports expand/collapse, which helps with multi-level views.

Hi @Danibuzzi

Thank you for contacting the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

To create a decision tree, the Hierarchy Tree visual by DevScope, as suggested by Prasanna, is indeed a solid approach. It provides a visually clear and dynamic representation of hierarchical structures and supports the overall decision logic shown in your image.

However, if you require more controlled, step-by-step interaction such as branching based on user selections like "Yes" or "No", along with a fully customizable layout the use of Buttons combined with Bookmarks in Power BI is the recommended solution. This method enables real-time branching and interactive navigation, offering a user-driven experience that closely replicates a traditional decision tree.

In some cases, a hybrid approach can also be effective leveraging the Hierarchy Tree for structured data context while using Buttons and Bookmarks for enhanced interactivity.

@Danibuzzi I checked the App Store for third party visuals that might do this but didn't find much. You might look at the Visio custom visual in the App Store.
