Hi,
I am building a report based on a specific date, it is to show debts from a specific date. for example evaluating debts from last month end or today.
Currently I execute a stored proc in SQL via Excel that picks up the date entered by an end user (@asatdate) and then builds the relevant data.
I have managed to get this all working in BI but i cannot seem to work out how to get the end user of a report to be able to enter the date (dont care if its a slicer, manual entry, date picker) so that then it fires the stored proc (or the user asked for a refresh and it bring it in.
I have had a good look around im not sure if it can be done.....
I have also got a data table in the report that i was hoping i could use
Any ideas?
@the606 You would use a Query Parameter and the user would enter the date they wanted there.

I thought that there was something on the roadmap for this, you might want to check that:

Hi Greg,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I am going to have a good read now, however would that mean that they would have to run the report from the BI desktop app? or do you reckon i could use a list for example as a drop down on the report?
Thanks again, reading now.
