Hi,
I've had to create a new Date Dimension table in my data model and was wondering why the Date column has a different icon associated with it compared to the original table? Is the new one ok or will it cause me problems.
Does this negatively affect date hierarchies?
Original Date field has a calendar icon:
New Date Field mhas a different icon:
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for your reply, I've just found what the issue is in the following post:
I've unmarked my Date Dimension Table so its no longer a Date Table and the formatting has gone completely from the Date Field but I now have this in my 'Dates' column, which is based on the Date column:
Dates = DATEVALUE('Date2'[Date])
I'm just hoping there won't be any issue not have a designated Date table now!
ps the Icon was classed an Identity Field icon
Hi @ArchStanton If we mark date column as date table in modelling then it will icon as second image by default it will show as first image.
Hi, thanks for your reply.
As I mentioned to the other respondent, the issue was related to the fact that my Calendar was marked as a Date Table. I unchecked this and now that Icon next to Date has gone; I also have a Date Hierarchy under a different column called Dates which works for me.
I just hope I don't have any issues with not having this Calendar marked as Date Table!
Thanks again
Hi,
that date is showing as an identity type in the field list, what data type is the field?
there's more info on the identity type here:
