It sounds like the issue has related to the data value encoding. which step did this issue appaers? The source step or 'change type' step? If you mean the second one, you can try to use the binary function to manually declare the encoding format to help the power query recognize these values.

If you are facing the first one, it means the power query data connector can't get data from these fields with a specific encoding format, you need to transform the encoding format on the database side before getting dat.
