Hello all,
I was hoping you could help me. I receive the error DataFormat.Error: We couldn't convert to Number.
This occurs in columns which I want to display text. I have tried changing the data type of these columns to 'any' and 'text' with no luck.
Please see photo below. All your help is greatly appreciated

@Anonymous,
You may just change the fourth step.
Can you show a pictures of how the data was before this step?
Hi,
Thanks for the response. The data looked pretty much the same.
I dont understand why it is trying to convert to a number in the firtst place, as it is the text values I want. I have removed the last step in power query.
Thanks
Dom
Power BI may have create the change type step automaticly .
on the right side you see the applied steps window. there you can remove the step.
but i dont realy understand your question.
1) do you want to change te date to a numer
2) do you NOT want to change your data type?
mvg,
madelon
So, I would like to keep the column as text. However, when I change data type to text (as I want), I get the error message.
The column only contains text values, and I want that to stay.
I hope this is clear.
Thank you
Please see the text I would like to be displayed in the error message
@Anonymous,
