Hi,
I am trying to load data from my Azure SQL Server DB, and the there are millions of rows to load. It starts loading and until few thousand records it works fine, then suddenly fails. Few times I got different error like below: Not sure what is exact issue. Is it because of data size or something else? The underlying tables which I have used in join are around 2 gb in size. Errors I got:
1)Failed to save modifications to the server. Error returned: 'OLE DB or ODBC error: [DataSource.Error] An error happened while reading data from the provider: 'Invalid operation. The connection is closed.'.
2)Failed to save modifications to the server. Error returned: 'OLE DB or ODBC error: [DataSource.Error] An error happened while reading data from the provider: 'A transport-level error has occurred when receiving results from the server. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - The semaphore timeout period has expired.)'.
3) 'Invalid operation. The connection is closed.
All these different times random for same data load. Request someone to help me out.
08/01: Just an update on above, yesterday I tried loading and after like around 4-5 hours and loading approx. 2.6 million records it failed with the number (2) error above i.e. The semaphore timeout period has expired! So not sure if this is due to memory constraint or something else?
Any update on this? I have the same issue as well.
Hi, @Anonymous
I'd say there was an error on one of the steps, perhaps it wasn't shown on the query editor, (you'd need to refresh in every single step), and there's also the possibility that some data that wasn't being loaded in the query editor was causing the error. Data size or something else also may cause the problem.
