Data Source Change

Hello,

I;m using Power BI Desktop (Version: 2.46.4732.721 64-bit (May, 2017).

Questions:

I'm currently connected to Azure SQL Datawarehouse and have created a dashboard with various visuals.  I would like to change the Data Source from my current Azure SQL Datawarehouse to a different Azure SQL Datawarehouse.  All tables and field are exactly the same I'm just moving from one DW to another one?

If this can be done what impact will it have on my already created dashboard visuals when I change Azure SQL Datawarehouse.

I'm using Direct Query for my connections and when I tried doing this I got the following error message:

"Combing Direct Query and Import is not supported"

I'm not trying to add another data source connection I'm trying to move from "1" DW to a complete seperate DW.

I've cleared all permissons for the connection and still not sucessfully.

Can anyone please help provide assistance??

Thanks

Hi @train2,

Based on my test, I was unable to reproduce your issue. I didn't encounter above error message when chaning Azure SQL Datawarehouse to a different one.

In your scenario, have you ever connected to the DW2 in import mode in another .pbix file?

If connect to DW2 as a second data source in the same file, does issue persist? If connect to DW2 in another separate pbix file, can it be connected to successfully? Also, can you change Azure SQL Datawarehouse via Power Query?

Besides, I would suggest you create a support ticket to get more help.
