If I get an spread sheet e-mailed to me every Friday...is Power Bi smart enough to use that as my updated data source automatically? ( I just want to hit 'Re-fresh'...not re-load the new sheet Power Bi every time.) That would be really cool. Thanks.
can you just point power bi to the file somewhere in the cloud, is it external or internal? Does it have to get emailed to you? If you get a file emailed to you, can you save it in onedrive or sharepoint and then just set up a scheduled job to process it?
create a folder and then point power bi to the folder not the file directly in sharepoint or onedrive.
in power query combine all the files in the folder and as long as they share the same format and it should process all the files every time. or if you want to save over a file, then you can do that, but set up a scheduled job to process it or you can manually refresh? Maybe a little more detail is required to give a helpful answer.

An Excel file gets e-mailed to me every Friday. The format is exact, it just has updated data. I don't want to open the e-mail at all. I want Power Bi to grab the new data and change my Dashboard visuals when I re-fresh. Can the Excel file go automatically to a OneDrive folder? Hope this helps.
i think that is outside of the bounds of what power bi does. however you can probably use power automate to do that https://powerautomate.microsoft.com/en-US/templates/details/289f7f75e2ff4a3183cfd08064bdece6/save-em... or https://www.multcloud.com/tutorials/power-automate-save-email-attachment-to-onedrive-5555-gc.html and then process it with power bi as i have stipulated by just dumping the file to a folder and then processing the folder in power bi rather than the file and setting up an automated update.
