I have a simple data model. Two tables (1 to Many).
on the lookup table I use a numerical ($) column as the 3rd row, when drill down opens it ... it's shows the total for that category and not the value. So every row in that category shows the total.
is there an obvious step I am missing?

Have you checked if your 2 tables have relationship?
or check if the visualization has summed up your values correctly
