Data Model Pages Disappeared

I saved my Data Model (saved as pbip) this morning, reopened the file and all the pages that I had been using for model qc'ing purposes were gone and there was only blank 'Page 1'.  Everything looks normal otherwise, but I don't want to publish from this file if there is anything unusual that I cannot see easily.

Hi @mgreezrhythmtx

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Forum Community.

Based on my understanding of your requirements, please consider the following points.

A PBIP project stores the model and the report pages separately. Sometimes, when you remove a custom visual or after saving and closing, the report definition file report.json inside the PBIP project can get reset or corrupted. When Power BI can’t read that file, it just creates a new blank page called Page 1.

To fix this, go to the folder where your PBIP is saved and check if the Report folder and the report. Json file are still there. If they’re missing or empty, try restoring them from a backup or version history. If no backup is there, we need to rebuild the report pages.

If I misunderstand your needs or you still have problems on it, please feel free to let us know.

Thanks.

@mgreezrhythmtx Interesting, I can't seem to replicate this. Can you provide any more details? I created three Layout pages, saved as a PBIP file and reopened it and those three Layout pages were there.

Thank you for replying @Greg_Deckler ... and apologies for not providing any details on my issue.

I had a custom visual on my data model that I removed.  Then I saved and closed it.  When I reopened the pbip, there were no pages, just a blank 'Page 1'
