Dat Point as a Table column order

I have a stacked column visual with about 10 columns with 3-4 items (legend values) in each column.

When I select a section of a column (legend item) and right click to "show data point as a table", the columns don't show in the order I want them to. So I re-arrange them. When I return to the report and select a different section, those table columns are in the wrong order, too. It appears I have to go to each section and adjust the column order.

I have looked at the source table and the columns are correct there. The columns in the data point table are not in alphabetical order, so it doesn't appear to be sorting them that way.

Surely there is a way to fix the column order so that all the data point tables show the same way. Any thoughts?

Sorry - new to Power BI so I must be missing something.

When I right click on the chart (not the column in the chart), I am not seeing what I expected to see.

I know the "show as table" only shows the data in the chart as a table. Here's what I am looking to do.

I right click on the blue column at the far right of the image below and select "Show data point as a table".

The data shows up like below.

I want to move the column REVISON_STATE to after the DOCUMENT_TITLE column. I can do that from here by re-arranging the "Columns" in the Visualizeation section and it stays that way when I re-open the data point table for that bar in the chart. However, if I select one of the other columns in the graph, and "show data as table", the columns are not changed for that column.

I am looking for a way to change the order of the data point view for all the bars in the bar chart. I am sure I am missing something simple, but I can't wrap my head around it.

Thanks for any help you can give.

BTW- if I look at the raw data for the table, it's columns are in a totally different order.

Hello @DanielRichard,

You can fix the column order in the data point tables by following these steps:

  1. Right-click on the chart and select "Data" to open the data view.
  2. Select the column you want to change the order of by clicking on its header.
  3. Click on the "Modeling" tab in the ribbon.
  4. Use the up and down arrow buttons under the "Column tools" section to move the column to the desired position.
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 for each column you want to reorder.
  6. Click "Close & Apply" to save the changes.

After you have reordered the columns, the data point tables should display the columns in the same order for each section of the chart.

Let me know if you might require further assistance.

Hello Sahir_Maharaj,

I am trying to follow the steps that you posted but I can not find  the up and down arrow buttons under the "Column tools" section, could you please share a screenshot?

Thanks in advance,
