Dashboard slicers from different queries

Hi,

I created a dashboard and each dashboard has it's info from different queries that I wrote. I want to know how I can have my slicers on the top be universal to all of the dashboards because they are getting different information from different queries.

Hi @walker8888 ,

From the image you shared, it looks like your dashboard contains multiple visuals on a single page. Depending on what you're trying to achieve, here are some suggestions:

  1. If all the visuals are on the same page:

    • Ensure that your data model has proper relationships between the tables. If the relationships are correctly set up, the slicers at the top should automatically filter all the visuals on the page, as long as you haven’t modified the interactions.
    • Check the visual interactions settings to ensure that the slicers are filtering all the relevant visuals.
  2. If your visuals are on different pages:

    • You can use the Sync Slicers feature in Power BI to make slicers work across multiple pages. This allows the slicers to retain the same selections on all dashboards. To enable this, go to the "View" tab in Power BI, select "Sync Slicers," and choose the pages where the slicers should sync.
  3. If your visuals come from entirely separate queries without a shared data model:

    • This requires additional details to provide a specific solution. If the queries are completely disconnected, you might need to create a shared table or parameter to tie them together. For example, you could use a shared "Date" table or a common dimension like "Employee Type" or "Cost Center" to allow universal filtering.

Sorry I am new to power BI, where would I find the visual interaction settings?
