Up until a short time ago and not due to something I was aware of, the formulas I type in to the DAX formula bar are not formatting as designed. For instance, each time I hit shift/Enter regardless of what line I'm on, the formula continues left aligned instead of indented. This is for the complete formula. I can find no setting where I can turn this off or on. I tried attaching a screenshot but this tool crops it, enlarges it and makes it useless.

If I am understanding your issue correctly, when you hit shift + enter you can use tab to indent your expression.
this is a known issue which will be fixed soon.
