DATEADD returns same value - cannot do YOY

Hello,

I'm a beginner with Power BI but I could not find an answer to my question. I have a database and want to show Year over Year for a metric.

My sales data is coming from 'Sales_report'. I also have created a new table 'DATE' with the formula 'calendarauto'.

I created two measures:

TOTAL SALES = Sum(sales_report[retail_qty])
LY TOTAL SALES = Calculate([TOTAL SALES], DATEADD('DATE'[DATE], -1, YEAR)

the second column does not give the value from last year, it returns the same value of current year

What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

What date field are you using in your visual?

One from your 'sales_report' table? or the one from your 'DATE' table?

That was the problem! I was using the date field from the sales_report in my visual. Now it works!

Thank you.
