Create column in Table view based on another column's Text

I have tried to use the following formula to have only the text before the period (.) into another column. But I can't get it to work:

Values in [Host] column is like:  de.webiste.com or fr.website.com. So I would like to have a new Column with only "DE" or "FR"

NewColumn = LEFT(Append1[host], FIND(".", Append1[host]) - 1)

Anyone that can figure out why it is not working?

Error message says: The search Text provided to function 'FIND' could not be found in the given text.

It looks alright from here but we don't have the real data just what's been shown.

Start with following the error.  Create a new column with this part:

FIND(".", Append1[host])

Does it work or not? If you get the same error, investigate why the "." is not being recognised.  It might be something unusual like a special character (use the UNICODE function to try and identify this)
