Working with Two Analysis Services Cubes each having RLS

Hello,

I'm currently working on a Power BI report and need to query two Analysis Services cubes. Both of these cubes have Row-Level Security (RLS) defined.

I'm interested in understanding how RLS will function if we import both cubes into a single report. Is there an option to select which RLS should be active?

I appreciate any insights you can provide.

Thank you!

They will both be active, one on top of the other. If their rules contradict each other then the more permissive rule will win.

Thank you for your response! Is this still holds true if we are not using the table on which RLS is defined?

That's a very cheeky question 🙂 , and I don't know the answer. Maybe you can try it out?

I have been attempting to determine how I can perform testing as an end user. Since my data model is hosted on Azure Services, I am unable to utilize the "Test as role" feature in the Power BI service. I attempted to connect the Power BI dataset to Excel, but it seems that I need to be logged in as an end user in order to test the Row-Level Security (RLS). Do you have any suggestions on how I can emulate a user in Excel?
