I have a datetime column in UTC time in my table. I want to add a column to that table and convert the time to Central Standard Time. Is there a simply way to do this. All the blogs are confusing. Do you accomplish this via power query or in the table itself.

Hi @Anonymous ,
You can create a new calculated column in power bi desktop by DAX:
CST Time = [YourUTCDateTimeColumn] - TIME(6, 0, 0)
Or you can create a custom column in power query:
CST = DateTimeZone.SwitchZone([YourUTCDateTimeColumn],-6)
For the sample .pbix file,pls see attached.

You could do that in Power Query. But - why do you need to do it? The Power BI service will show it according to the user's timezone.
Unfortunately, in my desktop it is showing correct time. When I publish it is showing in UTC time. Therefore, I need to do a conversion.
Is it showing to your report users in UTC?
Yes it is
