Connecting to Informix

Hi,

I use the Informix beta connector in PBI Desktop to connect to an on-premise Informix Database

I get this error:

Details: "Microsoft Informix Client: Exception of type 'Microsoft.HostIntegration.Drda.Common.DrdaException' was thrown. SQLSTATE=HY000 SQLCODE=-1040"

However, I can connect with ODBC.

Any suggestion?

Thanks,

Hi @AlexBrisebois,

The error indicates an EXCSAT_FAILURE, a protocol DRDA error from a Informix server.

IBM Informix Server supports multiple client-to-server network connectivity protocols: (1) proprietary IBM Informix client-to-server protocol; and (2) industry-standard Distributed Relational Database Architecture (DRDA). The IBM ODBC Driver for Informix supports both. The Microsoft Connector for Informix supports DRDA only.

You need to configure the Informix Server to be “DRDA enabled”, and to listen for in-bound client TCP/IP network connections on a “DRDA port” (default port number is 9089). Here is a similar thread for your reference.Smiley Happy
