Hi all,
I have a dataset i'm working with where there are 21 columns I want to filter a single word by. Each column has the 'contractor' suffice, for example, 'water contractor', 'gas contractor', etc.
I have a text based filter but I can only filter by a single column. Is there a way I can set a filter to say filter by '# Contractor' where # is a wildcard?
I have a bit of experience with PowerBI, but usually just filtering by one location. Any advice would be appreciated.
(image is from current text filter visualisation, can only pick one column at a time).
Thanks
Ryan
Hi @Ryan_Karolak ,
Not sure what is the intent but one option can be to use a field parameter where you place all this columns then have two slicers one with the name of the columns and then another with the values of the parameters fields.

Check out my blog: Power BI em PortuguêsHi Felix,
Thanks for responding. I was able to create a parameter for all the contractor columns and a slicer for the names of said columns. I don't fully understand the 2nd slicer for values from the link you shared. I will try to give a bit more context (apologies, new to this specific situation).
I created the parameter which is in the slicer. I now want to link that to a text search so that when I type a word (say a contractors name is 'me' ) it will search all those columns in the parameter for the word 'me' and then update visualisation on the page. Currently with this setup, when I search for a name in the text field it errors as I imagine it's tying to filter the column headers rather than the content.
I understand I may need to ask someone within my organisation as i'm unable to share the overall report / screenshots.
All the best
Ryan
