Combining columns from two tables in Power Query

Hi all,

I was hoping someone could help me figure out how to combine two columns from two different (related) tables in the following situation:

I have one table (personal) with personal data of subscribers to a magazine. This table contains an 'end date' with the date that the subscriber cancels their subscription. Hower, if a subscriber ends their subscription, they are called by the magazine the next day and receives a new offer that makes it appealing to stay a subscriber. If they accept this offer, the data of the subscriber is added to a second table (retention) in which the 'end date' is blank because they started a new contract.

Now i would like to combine these two tables so I can use the 'start date' from the personal table and the 'end date' from the retention table. However, I can't completely overwrite the 'end date' column in the personal table because there are people who won't accept the offer and their 'end date' in the personal table is final.

Question - End date.png

Can anyone tell me how to do this in the Query Editor

Thanks so much in advance!
