I can't figure out why Power BI is throwing a circular dependency error on my column. As far as I can tell, none of my calculations refer to themselves.
This is the calculated column that is throwing the error:
The [LA Balance] calculated measure:
[LA Earned] and [LA Min] are both measures coming from the database.
Where am I going wrong?
You cannot create columns from measures. The result won't make sense as you are missing the filter context.
Do you have other calculated columns? If so, these could be the cause. Most beginners gravitate to calculate columns because they are a familiar construct, but more often than not (in my experience) this is the wrong approach.
