Change part of a cell

I am pretty new to this world so be easy on me!

Trying to add some GPS coordinates to a desktop report, however the way the numbers come out of a different system is like this

47.40.260N006.62.900W

Is there any way to make this more BI friendly and get it to work on the maps?

Thanks in advance

James

Hi @JamesSimison ,

As @themistoklis said, Map visual currently only supports latitude and longitude. But this is at idea/feedback level alone. May be , hopes Power Bi will implement this in nearby future.

If you also want this in power bi, let the power bi community to know this things and give your votes at power bi site's feedback -https://ideas.powerbi.com/ideas/idea/?ideaid=c1023834-9787-4092-9e1b-8c3e8ed04e50

hello @JamesSimison

I think the example that you have in your message is not correct.

If PowerBI doesnt recognise North, East, West South format then it is best to convert them to Lat/Long.

For batch conversion you use a free online tool. Good websites are the following:

https://www.doogal.co.uk/BatchReverseGeocoding.php    (Output should be latidtude/longtitude)

https://gridreferencefinder.com/batchConvert/batchConvert.php

Then save them in a text file and add them to PowerBI

Cheers, I'll give that a go. the output didn't quite copy over properly, it comes from another system into an excel file with one cell for the lat and one for the long as decimal degrees
