Hi all
We are facing a problem where the database packages in SAP HANA are changed to ensure consitent modelling.
We will need to migrate the views to those new locations, but are having problems with changing the power BI reports.
As by default, Power BI recommends to use Direct Query as a Multi-dimensional source. We already created reports and measures in those reports so we would like to just change the source "Location/path".
I know that in a relational context with Direct Query, you can change the source (path) within the Query Editor.
Is there a way to do the same in an Multi-Dimensional Context, without braking the report?
Kind Regards
Jasper Baert
Hi all,
Has this request been solved.
We are in the same situation where we also would like to change the Hana view for a PowerBI report, or more specific, copy a PowerBI report and change the source of the new report to a different (but simular) HANA view.
- And yes we are also able to change the datasource to source from either the Q- or P system, but that is not what we are looking for.

Hi @Anonymous
Yes, this works for let's say DEV, QA en PRD systems, but you can't change the "Source Path".
We want to change the structure of our DB, and therefore change the path to that one source or view.

Hi Amitchandak
These are really general overviews of the possibilities with HANA & Power BI Direct Query.
The above question is specifically on changing the HANA Source, which is an exact copy of the previous source. Same data, same measures, same descriptions.
Normally you would change this in Query Editor, but since it is greyed out for multi-dim sources, we are really stuck on how-to change this.
Thanks for the proposals, but still searching for a solution!
