Hi,
I created a date table in my mysql database. The primary key is a column of (mysql) type date.
Then I opened PowerBI desktop and added this table and I wanted to mark it as date table.
The validation process finished succesfully, but the OK button keeps inactive, as one can see in the image:
I expected the OK button turning to active to proceed, but it doesn't 😞
What I am missing here please?
I found the solution by myself:
It is mandatory to set the 'Data Connectivity mode' to Import and not DirectMode.
I'm having similar issues in that a date table I imported keeps giving me the message: The date column can't have gaps in dates
There are not any gaps in the dates. Based upon this thread, is there a glitch in this 'Mark as a date table' ability? I haven't seen a response since January
Thank you
Now I tested with the simplest date table (mysql), just the field 'Datum' as primary key and of type 'Date':
If I open the Power Query Editor the table is presented as:
it still contains only one record and one column only.
But still I cannot 'Mark as date table', since the OK button is inactive.
hmm sorry then I have never experienced any issues doing this at all, I tend to have a separate table that contains just the date range I need within it and no other columns.
Are you certain the column Datum selected is a date value only and has no duplicate values or blanks within it?
Hi derekborder,
thanks for reply, yes I am sure:
The records are unique, no double entries, since the 'Datum' column is primary key.
For testing I deleted all records except only one:
But still the OK button is inactive 😞
Any further thoughts here?
did you ever resolve this? I am having a similar issue.
