Can't get a chart visualisation to appear with my numeric data

I am new to MS BI and trying to get a chart visualisation to come up. I can get the data to be seen in the report - and it it all numerical, but when I click on the bar chart icon, I simply get the text of the data I am trying to visualise coming up in the top left hand corner....anyone got any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Hi @ahenney,

Could you please post a screenshot about your scenario? I create a bar chart with two numeric fields as follows, when I click on it, everything works as expected. The text appears in the top left hand corner is title of the visual.
