Hi Power BI gurus,
I'm having an issue to reconnect to an excel file stored in SharePoint after it had been relocated and renamed.
I created a report out of an excel file stored in SharPoint and now having some difficulty to reconnect to it after it had been relocated (to different folder) and renamed. I initially processed (renamed, recoded, removed columns, added columns, ...) the data in Power Query. In Power Query, I tried to reconnect to the file but it warned me that "You are about to create a navigation step that replaces the subequent steps. D you want to continue?" Once clicked Yes, it deleted all y data processing steps.
Any idea how to reconnect to the file while keeping all the data processing steps? Or how to deal with relocated files, in SharePoint, in general in Power Query?
Thanaks heaps in advance for any advice/assistance.

You can use the advanced editor to modify the URL and file name in the M-Code, if the structure of your data is same then the subsequent steps will execute properly.

Thank tharunkumarRTK.
Thanks Tharun. Did just that but transformation steps were gone.
Hi @Sambath ,
You can update your datasource here:
1. In Advanced Editor:
2. Click the gear next to Source:
After updating the source path, verify if all your data processing steps are still intact. If any steps were lost during the update, you might need to reapply them manually. Unfortunately, if the steps were deleted during your initial attempt to reconnect, they would need to be recreated.
Best Regards,
