I have an enterprise - onprem gateway installed on a notebook and it has been working well. I needed to add a new user to the gateway. The new user logined to the notebook with their id. When we get to the gateway and cloud conections for the semantic model the data sources that are under my user id aren't there and we don't get the option to create new ones under the new users login. Is there a method to add a second user data connections to the gateway?
Thanks
Hi @U156531
Thank you for reaching out microsoft fabric community forum.
Even after using Take Over, the new user won’t see your existing data sources because the gateway and its connections are tied to the original user by default.
To resolve this:
Add the new user as a gateway admin in Power BI Service (under Manage Gateways).
The new user will likely need to manually recreate or rebind the data sources, as these don’t transfer between users.
For shared access, it’s best to manage the gateway centrally via Power BI and ensure all relevant users have admin or user permissions.
If this solution helps, please consider giving us Kudos and accepting it as the solution so that it may assist other members in the community
Thank you.
I forgot to mention that we performed the Take Over function with the new user.
