Dear community,
I am just starting with PowerPI and I encounter some issues for calculation.
I have 2 numbers on 2 different columns. When I want to do a simple substract everything is okay except when there is a "-" (minus) character in the number where is doesn't return me the requested results.
My table looks like this:
january 97 -3 100
february 83 0 83
mars 100 10 90
april 50 50 0
may 122 -83 150
june 125 -81 206
I know that it looks okay regarding calculation but in my case, I talk about licenses and when their is -3 means that 3 licenses are needed so I want that the result to be 94 on the first line and not 103.
In order to solve this, I wanted to create a calculation column and remove any "-" character to do proper calculation but I could not have something done easy.
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
Thanks for the respond but I am sorry I'm new to PowerBi and don't know much the tool.
This absolute column will call another column and remove the "minus (-)" symbols?
I have lots of line where this should be done automatically and that is why I was thinking of a calculation measure column.
Hi @jdufey ,
Please try to create the following calculated column:
Column = 'Table'[value1]-ABS('Table'[value2])
Best Regards,
Liang
