Hi everyone,
I started using Azure maps for a new project and I am having some issues with it.
The first thing I did was going to my tenant settings and enabled the use of Azure maps.
After this I opened Power BI Desktop and created a map, but no matter what I do, the maps are always blank and on top I get this error:
I tried also publishing the report to the server but nothing changes.
I shared the .pbix with a colleague and he can view the maps using his account (from a different tenant).
Could this be related to some setting in my own tenant/account?
Thank you,
Carlotta.
Hi Carlotta, i have the same issue on a customer's tenant.
Do you have any news about it?
I did some test, but unfortunately that I can't reproduce your issue.
Here are some limitations of the Azure map, please check this link:
Get started with Azure Maps Power BI visual - Microsoft Azure Maps | Microsoft Learn
And here are some steps for your reference:
Check if there are updates specifically for the Azure Map visual and reinstall the latest version if needed.
Remove the Azure Maps visual, and try adding it again from the Power BI marketplace to ensure you have the latest version.
The Azure Map visual connects to online map data. Ensure your internet connection is stable, and check for any firewall restrictions or VPN configurations that may be blocking Power BI's ability to load Azure Map resources.

Thank you @v-zhengdxu-msft for your reply.
I tried to check but the really strange thing is that I have other clients with Azure Maps and they work fine.
I access from the same laptop, the only difference is that I am connected using a different account and tenant. I verified the limitations and I am not publishing to web and I am based in Italy so this is not the answer to my issue.
Thank you,
Carlotta.
Given I have so little information at this time, I can't tell what's causing your problem. You can create a support ticket for free and a dedicated Microsoft engineer will come to solve the problem for you.
It would be great if you continue to share in this issue to help others with similar problems after you know the root cause or solution.
