Azure Databricks: Inconsistent Connection and errno10060

Is anyone having a lot of difficulty with getting data from Azure Databricks? To preface, I am working on a Citrix Workspace Virtual Machine. I am accessing Power BI September 2022 through this. I have access to an Azure Databricks Workspace and I am trying to Import that data into Power BI Desktop.

However, whenever I try doing that, I get this error: "ODBC: ERROR [HY000] [Microsoft][ThriftExtension] (14) Unexpected response from server during a HTTP connection: connect() failed: errno = 10060."

What's weird is that I have been able to both Import and DirectQuery from this Workspace in the past. There have been limitations however, to what I was able to Import and DirectQuery. Particularly, Import would fail after ~4 million rows were reached. Not sure if the request timed out or something. So, the only datasets I have in my Desktop are very small and not what I need. Regardless, they are in, but they cannot be updated because I get that errno = 10060 message. So my issue is twofold.

1. Could not import large files from Azure Databricks

2. Cannot connect to Azure Databricks at all anymore. The cluster is running, but I get errno = 10060 with no other information.

I cannot download an ODBC Driver because I am on a secure Workspace that does not allow me to download from the web.

Does anyone know why this is happening? I would appreciate any help on this. Thank you!

what type of environment are you using in databricks.  Do the logs on databricks not give an explanation?

If I took the time to answer your question and I came up with a solution, please mark my post as a solution and /or give kudos freely for the effort 🙂 Thank you!
