Average of distinct values

Hi,

I'm struggling with a simple problem (or so I though).  I have values like this:

Kohrinn_0-1695973139525.png

What I want to do is to count the average duration for each batch. That means that I have to take unique values of duration to my calculation.

I tried at first:

AVERAGE(CIP_ReportData[BatchDuration Seconds])

 Which is obviously wrong - it calculated the average from all the durarion values (as in red). Then I did:

AVERAGE(DISTINCT(CIP_ReportData[BatchDuration Seconds]))

But this gave me an error from AVERAGE function. So I tried:

AVERAGEX(CIP_ReportData,CALCULATE(DISTINCT(CIP_ReportData[BatchDuration Seconds])))

But it gave me a result like this one in red, again.

How to selved it correctly? I was looking through similar problems solved on this forum, but none of them helped in my case...

Thanks,

Joanna

@Kohrinn , Try like

AVERAGEX(Summarize(CIP_ReportData,CIP_ReportData[UniqueBatch] , CIP_ReportData[BatchDuration Seconds]), [BatchDuration Seconds] )

Are there other fields in your dataset that is causing the duplication of rows? All the values in BatchDuration are the same for each UniqueBatch ID. So, the average of all the duration values per Batch would be the same value. What is your expected result for each of the above shown UniqueBatch IDs?
