Hello,
I am trying to figure out how to schedule an Auto Refresh schedule on Power BI Desktop when the source is data from Excel.
Can anyone help me out?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Although not officially supported you can probably rig something up using PowerShell and SendKeys, you just need to know the right key combinations needed to navigate to the refresh function.

You can't do this from the desktop app. Scheduled refreshes are set up via the web service once you publish your pbix. If the excel file resides in an on premises environment, you will also need to install a gateway to schedule the refresh. This will require a pro license.
If you have recently started exploring Fabric, we'd love to hear how it's going. Your feedback can help with product improvements.
