I have an Azure Mobile App (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/app-service/mobile/) and I want to use PowerBI to connect to the data via its REST API. I've got it setup so users authenticate using Microsoft accounts. How can I connect PowerBI to it?
I see the Web data source, but have not been able to get it to work since MSA authentication in PowerBI is not an option.
I currently get to the data source via a direct Azure SQL database connection. I want to move away from that.
Hi @carlomendoza,
To connect to the Azure Mobile App REST API from Power BI desktop based on MSA authentication, you could try to append "username", "password", "access token" as the parameters to query string. But you should be aware that this token will be expired after a certain time. In that case, I think the best choice currently is to get data source via a direct Azure SQL database connection.
