Applying a filter doesn't remove data from matrix

Hi, I am relatively new to power BI and have a problem with a matrix I have created.

I want to apply a filter that only shows rows of data where the response to a survey was 'Yes'. However when I apply a filter it affects the whole table and doesnt actually remove the data that I want it to remove. I have attached pictures to illustrate what I mean.

In the ideal situation after I apply the filter to 'option 2' my matrix would then only show the row for option 1.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi @Anonymous ,

What all fields are you moving to your matrix visual.

Can you share a complete screesnhot of your matrix showing what fields are moved to it without the filter pane?

Thanks,

Pragati

Hi Pragati,

Thank you for the quick reply is this what you are asking to see?

The 3rd, bolder, column is there due to me adding 'POST CODE' to the column data. I dont actually need this 3rd column as it is simply a repeat of column 2 however without this addition it wont let me edit the filters, which is why it was added

@Anonymous , seem like using show on the row. and you are getting only one value for the "Value column"

And there is only yes value in Option 2.

Because of which there is no value

Sorry @amitchandak I do not understand what you are saying.

I am using 'show on row' because I want my matrix to be vertical rather than horizontal, but I dont follow the rest of your message

Hi @Anonymous ,

Would you please inform us more detailed information( your sample data and expected output (by OneDrive for Business)) if possible? Then we will help you more correctly.

Please do mask sensitive data before uploading.

Thanks for your understanding and support.

@Anonymous , What I getting from the screenshot is filter is working fine.  Can you share sample data and sample output in a table format? Or a sample pbix after removing sensitive data.
