Any way to embed a dynamic Excel sheet into a PowerBi published report?

Hi,

Not looking to just import the data, but rather have an interactive tile where you can scroll and interact with a live Excel sheet housed on Sharepoint.

Thanks in advance!

Have a look and see if this helps: https://michalguzowski.pl/how-to-overcome-500-items-limit-in-powerapps/

Other option could be to use Flow to narrow those 70000 down to a smaller amount of 'active' records that need to be in the Power BI report for that week.

@gobluemba I don't think so, what is the use case? Why you don't want to import?

If my solution proved useful, I'd be delighted to receive Kudos. When you put effort into asking a question, it's equally thoughtful to acknowledge and give Kudos to the individual who helped you solve the problem. It's a small gesture that shows appreciation and encouragement! ❤

Thanks for replying.

So I am in HR - and building a candidate talent database.

There is a section for notes in the Table that I import from Excel, BUT with the table funciton, I cannot create a function where end users can add their notes on a candidate they see in my power BI report.

I figured if I can have an excel sheet in there, they can somehow go in and edit it.

I am open to ANY suggestions here 🙂 I looked at PowerApps, but I have huge bank of candidates (70k) so it doesn't make the PowerApps function workable. Worst case scenario is I create a link in PowerBi and have a VB script that can look up the candidates and then they can put int he notes in there, and then I have to sync the spreadsheet back up to populate the notes.

Read only or do you need to edit it?

You can pin Excel tables, ranges and charts to Dashboards in Power BI:

Not sure if that will do the trick for you?

Thanks Allison for responding. See attached table. I am TRYING to figure out a workaround where my end users can add notes to the candidate list. That is the ultimate goal.

@gobluemba if you want to write back feature in Power BI, you need to explore Power Apps which can be embedded in Power BI and allows you to achieve similar functionality.

I would  Kudos if my solution helped. 👉 If you can spend time posting the question, you can also make efforts to give Kudos whoever helped to solve your problem. It is a token of appreciation!

Which Power Apps provide this functionality?

Thanks 🙂 How do I give kudos? I see I can do an accepted solution, but didn't see the kudos option. More than happy to do that. @parry2k
