An error appears periodically "To display Azure Maps visuals, sign in"

Hello all!

Sometimes i get this message for Azure Maps.

AzureMapsError.png

This message shows while i close PowerBI Desktop.

After that I open PowerBI Desktop and everything is fine again.
How can I fix this permanently as it is annoying.

PBI Version: 2.124.1805.0 64-bit (December 2023)

Thanks!

I have the same problem and solution turned out to be pretty simple.
It seems that if you don't actively "see" the visual, for example it's on the other slide it will log you out "in the background". "In the background" I mean you will still see yourself as logged (top right corner of desktop app) but visual will say otherwise. To fix it click on the "File" in top left corner and check what you have now in bottom left corner. If you have "Sign out/Log out" or is ir "Sign in/Log in". If it's "sign in" just press it, it will automatically log you back and azure map visual should refresh and display properly. At least that's how it works for me 😉

Hi @samuelstinger ,
Based on your description, the error message seems to appear intermittently when closing Power BI Desktop, but disappears when reopening it, according to your description. I noticed that the version of your desktop was 2.124.1805.0 64-bit (December 2023) and the latest version is now 2.126.1261.0 (3/4/2024). As described in the Power BI Desktop Startup Errors document, antivirus software or other programs on your computer may be interfering with Power BI Desktop.Temporarily disabling these (especially when shutting down Power BI Desktop) can help determine if they are the cause. Of course, regarding intermittent problems, they can also usually be fixed by clearing the cache of desktop.
You can troubleshoot based on this documentation:

@samuelstinger , Usually if you are logged into Power BI, It should not show that.

Check if someone else reported an issue, if not report a new one- https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/idb-p/Issues

Thanks for your answer!

I'm already logged in because before this issue I was successfully publishing a dashboard to the PBI service.

But, I'm going to keep a closer eye on the login status when this error occurs.

It happened again...

But I'm still logged in (at least PowerBI desktop thinks so).
