Add calculated column to a table visualization

Hello, i have a table visualization (See attached). I am trying to add an extra column to sum up Active headcounts column and current open requisition columns. The problem is that the row values in both of these columns are calculated as a count from my row data. Also the columns i am using to provide the count number are not numerical. Does anyone have solution for this?
