My client wants to add summary stats in the rows of a matrix visual, before it breaks out the columns into months. As the summary stats are measures, I cannot add them in the hierarchy. Is there a way to do this in one visual? I had to do two matrix visuals to come close to what client wants but it is so awkward and unrelilable.

@hstewart Probably possible but ugly. You would use the disconnected table as the rows instead of the columns although you may need disconnected tables for both. The New Hotness (Custom Matrix Hierarchy) - Microsoft Fabric Community
AFter some data manipulation, it worked. Thanks, Greg!
