Hi guys,
I have a power bi project that I start works on and the model was created using an API .
I`m tried to update it automatically and I can't because the power bi gives me the following message:
"You can't schedule refresh for this dataset because the following data sources currently don't support refresh:
Data source for Query1"
It's my first time using the API sources and I don't know if it's possible to automatically refresh Power bi using it.
Unfortunately, I can`t share the .pbix because there is confidential information.
Can you please help me?
Thanks
Fabi
@Anonymous Hi unfortunately not yet ;(
Hello, could you find a solution? I have the same problem
Hi @amitchandak ,
Thanks for your reply, I really appreciated it. However, I still with the problem which I will explain in the following steps:
1 - I`ve created the two-parameter (RangeStart and RangeEnd) and I filter the tables that I have the date. After that, I closed and applied the query.
2 - When I select the option "Incremental refresh" in the tables that I filtered the date using the two-parameters, the Power Bi shows me the following message:
"Before you can set up an incremental refresh on this table, you need to set up parameters"
When the module was created, it was included one parameter with the API address. From this API it was created some functions to call the tables that have data.
I`m not sure if :
*the "Incremental refresh" function just consider a parameter as a date to make the automatic refresh.
*Or it`s not possible to have more that one parameter to refresh the automatic data.
*Or if there is a restriction that is not possible uses the API as a parameter to called the data and in the same way automatic refresh it.
Can you please help me? I'm really struggling with this problem .
Thanks again to your reply and your help.
Hi, You may have to remove the dynamic parameters and replace the parameters with direct values. Also, create multiple datasets for different parameters and combine them in Power BI. This will allow you to setup schedule refresh. Hope this helps.
