One premise data gateway fabric

We want to do a proof of concept in Microsoft Fabric. We need first to create a data factory that will copy data from our on premise database.

To do that, we need to install an on premise gateway in one machine inside our gateway. Can we install this software in the same machine that we have install an Integration Runtime for Azure Synapse?

yes, you can install the On prem data gateway in the same server hosting the synapse integration runtime but ideally it is not recommended as they use the same port for communications.

Best way would be to set up on another server.
