ODBC Connection Issue to On Prem Oracle version 10c

All

I have an issue setting up a connection to an older version of Oracle.  I have set up an ODBC connection on the On Prem server that hosts the gateway, and I've tested the connection.  However when I try to create a ODBC connection in Fabric, I get the following error.

An exception occurred: ODBC: ERROR [IM003] Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 1114: A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed. (Oracle in OraClient19Home2, C:\Program Files\Oraclev19\product\19.0.0\client_2\BIN\SQORA32.DLL).

I'm using the ODBC connection instead of the Oracle on as it is version 10c.  I have installed the oracle client as well as the Oracle Client for Microsoft tools.

Any advice would be appreciated.

This is now resolved.  I tried a number of things, before testing.  But best guess that it was the permissions for the Power BI service for the on prem gateway.  I gave it read and write permissions to the oracle folder in Program files.

Thank you for getting back to me.  I can confirm that I have installed the 64-bit client on our server.

Hi @MisterSmith

Thanks for using Microsoft Fabric Community.

The error message "ODBC: ERROR [IM003] Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 1114" indicates an issue with the Oracle ODBC driver while connecting to an older Oracle version in Microsoft Fabric.

The error message mentions "SQORA32.DLL" which is a 32-bit DLL. You might be using a 64-bit application (Microsoft Fabric) with a 32-bit Oracle Client.

Verify if a 64-bit Oracle Client is installed. If not, download and install the compatible 64-bit version for your Oracle database version from the Oracle website.

Thank you.
