Trying to populate a slicer with Measures

I have the following table with COURSE FAILURES.

I have two measures that pull from below table:

Course Failures- Sem 1 =

COUNTX(

FILTER(

Append1,

Append1[SEMESTER GRADE] = "F"

&& Append1[SEMESTER] = "SEM 1"

),

Append1[SEMESTER GRADE]

)

Course Failures- Sem 2 =

COUNTX(

FILTER(

Append1,

Append1[SEMESTER GRADE] = "F"

&& Append1[SEMESTER] = "SEM 2"

),

Append1[SEMESTER GRADE]

)

I need to create 2 slicers based upon these measures and have no idea how to do this. Any help would be deeply appreciated. Do I need to create a table that summarizes these measures? Stuck:(
