I have a table of resources mapped from Project Online that have a "Department" value defined for each. I have a requirement to map this department value to a Business Unit value.
I looking or advise on the best way to achieve this. My initial thoughts are somehow creating a lookup table in PowerBI to map this (not sure on the feasibility of this), or creating some form of DAX to map values.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi @Anonymous ,
I guess you already have a way to "link" the department to the business unit. Something like a Organisation Breakdown Structure.
So you could create a departement table with DEPNO, DESCRIPTION, .... any other department related fields like manager... and BUSINESSUNIT. Add a field DEPNO to you resource table and create relationships between the tables.
Hope this helps,
Jan
