Dynamic assigning of an employee based on days worked

HI there,

I have employees with their mandays data every month, and I have to categorize them into HeavilyEngaged, CasuallyEngaged, LightlyEngaged based on thresholds. Say if an employee in the month of Jan worked more than 16 days then he/she is a heavilyengaged staff, else if an employee worked less than 5 days in Jan, then Lightly Engaged. This threshold changes with every month and is not consistent across all months in an year.

Employee Mandays Table:

Employee IDMonth ManDays
C1001Jan'1812
C1001Feb'1810
C1001Mar'1818
C1002Feb'1810
C1002Mar'1820
C1003Mar'184

Monthly engagement threshold Data:

MonthHeavilyEngaged(in days)LightlyEngaged(in days)
Jan'18155
Feb'18146
Mar'18177

I have a timeline slicer on Month which would give me the distribution of Heavilyengaged, casuallyengaged, lightlyengaged in that month. Suppose if the user selects Jan and Feb both then we should check the sum of thresholds for both the months and compare it with the sum of mandays for two months and then categorise in HeavilyEngaged/Casuallyengaged/Lightly engaged.

For example: In the above data, If the user selects Jan and Feb, C1001 will have 22days in total which will make him a CasuallyEngaged (<29 days & >11 days) staff, and C1002 who worked for 10 days in 2 months combined, would be a LightlyEngaged worker (<11 days). I would need the classification of a worker into each of the engagement category dynamic with resoect to the month /group of months selected.

Would be very grateful if anyone can help me out in this problem? @Anonymous
