Adding tables from multiple fact tables

I have the following tables:

1. Dim_Item

2. Fact_PO

3. Fact_Inventory

I need to have a cross tab table that has the ItemID column from Dim_Item and Total column that is basically adding Fact_PO[quantity] + Fact_Inventory[quantity]. I dont want to create a measure because I need this at line item level which is the ItemID level. I cant seem to find good answers for this.

Thanks!

Hi @hitb

whats the problem with having a measure at the item ID level? SUM ( Fact_PO[quantity] ) + SUM ( Fact_Inventory[quantity] ) should work just fine. Otherwise, a calculated column in the 'Dim_Item' table would be

SUMX ( RELATEDTABLE ( Fact_PO ), Fact_PO[quantity] ) + SUMX ( RELATEDTABLE ( Fact_Inventory ), Fact_Inventory[quantity] )

The first one worked. The second one gave me:

Too many arguments were passed to the RELATEDTABLE function. The maximum argument count for the function is 1.
