Hello!
I have two visualizations, I am wanting to show the same data on both but there seems to be a discrepancy and I can't figure out why.
The goal is to show totals for a field (Resolved) by month. In the first visual below, I have a table view and created cards for the totals each month, these totals match what the source is showing. The applied filters for the table are current year (2024) and full months complete so far, (Jan-May).
When I add the same field (Resolved) to the below chart, the numbers change however. Once again, the filters applied are the current year (2024) and full months complete (Jan-May).
The numbers are mostly close, but not the same.
Month | Chart | Table (correct) | difference |
January | 95 | 92 | 3 |
February | 76 | 75 | 1 |
March | 70 | 79 | -9 |
April | 72 | 77 | -5 |
May | 74 | 83 | -9 |
Any ideas would be welcomed! Thanks

See attached. I chose to show the resolved ones as negatives.
note the active and inactive relationship.
You will want to use a multi card visual instead of individual cards.

Hi!
Thanks for replying, I am not sure how to approach the multi card visual for a column chart, please explain further if possible.
After further investigation I was able to fix the data discrepancy, but had to create two separate charts. I need the second chart (Resolution Data) to be merged with the Main Chart page but I can't get it to work correctly - it either doesnt show or the numbers are wrong. The data on both pages is correct currently.
See attached. I chose to show the resolved ones as negatives.

I have been trying to copy the steps over to my real workbook and am having troubles. The active line is correct but the bars are not. I have reviewed all of the fields between the two files and can't see any differences. Did you manipulate the data somehow?
make sure you wire the data model correctly. The created and resolved columns must be date, not datetime.
Hi Ibendlin,
I did check the columns and they are "date" type, matching your returned file. I did have the autodate table set as an date heirachy instead of a date table, which I changed without any change to the visual as previously posted.
I have compared columns and measures without finding any difference. Do you have any other ideas?
Thanks
Post a sample version of your file.
Please see the following link, please use the same link to re-upload the file as well. Thanks
Looks ok to me?
What do you want changed?
It should match the screenshot you posted previously, the line is incorrect and and resolved data isn't on the chart.
I reposted my reply
Thank you! Are you able to remove the file download from your replies?
Hmm. I was able to remove it from my replies but not from the marked answer. Might need to ask a forum moderator for help, or unmark as answer.
From my view all of the links are gone, so all good. Thanks so much!
