Hello, everyone! I am developing a custom PowerBI visual. I want to use the native Export => PowerPoint option while in ViewMode:
By default, everything works correctly.
However, users in ViewMode can edit the visual slightly,
(e.g. expand / collapse rows)
but cannot click the Save button.
Is there any way to configure the Visual to PowerPoint export flow so that even without clicking the Save button, the latest changes in Visual are always exported (at least the Expand/Collapse status)?
Hi @DmytroKurhan,
The export to PowerPoint flow involves the report being (re) opened on a remote environment (not the current window), so it's as if your report has been re-opened again, and the initial view is what's captured by the export process.
The only control you have is to signal whether your visual has completed its rendering (renderingFinished) via the events API. Perhaps if you can automate what you want to do via code, you might be able to tailor the output. However, you cannot wait for user input, as the report will be opened or exported elsewhere.
Regards,
Daniel
